A few words about our great event. Thank you for your participation!
(text by Pavlina Proteou, Founder & CEO BeyondCSRnet)

An excellent panel, speakers who did not hesitate to say things as they are, analyzing the huge structural problems that rock Europe today, relating to the economic crisis that erupted from 2008 onwards, as well as the gap of views between the European North and South, and the refugee affair that brought to the surface, all the weaknesses and essentially – the pre-existing – issues of a Union that rushed to grow before it fully acquired the necessary cohesion.

A Union that, no matter how much it pretends that the refugee affair is coming to a resolution through the agreement with Turkey, it is probably at its essential beginning. As it is not only the balance of terror with Turkey that can blow everything up at any time, but the issues currently facing the neighboring country, combined with the ongoing Middle East flare-up, not counting the North Africa or Africa in general in combination with huge refugee or migration flows due to climate change. At the same time that technology through the Single Digital Market, Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things creates new avenues with many promises and correspondingly great challenges.

A big thank you to European MPs George Kirtsos EPP – European People’s Party, Eva Kaili Socialists and Democrats Group in the European Parliament, to the President of the Hellenic Foundation for European & Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP), Professor Loukas Tsoukalis, to Panteion University Professor Angelos Syrigos, to the Office Director Of the European Parliament in Greece Leonida Antonakopoulos, Dr. Constantinos Filis, the journalist of Kathimerini Tania Georgiopoulou who communicated her valuable experience of the refugee affair demonstrating the problems and the daily life of an issue that has a long way to go. We thank ELIAMEP Vice President Elizabeth Phocas Mantalena A. Kaili and Marina Stefou for their valuable assistance, The vice president of the American College of Greece, ALBA Graduate Business School Claudia Carydis for her support, the president of The American College of Greece Alumni Alumni Association Vivian Giannopoulou who embraced the idea and worked tirelessly for the organization of the event and Irini Libe a member of the Board of the Association for her help.

It is going to be an amazing event for ACG Alumni Association – Σύλλογος Αποφοίτων ACG’s Networking Committee, hopefully the first of many to come.
Why, where: The ongoing geopolitical developments in Middle East (i.e war in Syria, terrorism in Iraq, uncertainty in Turkey) resulted in one of the biggest migration flows the world has seen since WWII. While, the impact to Europe is yet unknown, as EU is faced with growing poverty, recession and unemployment.

The ACG Alumni Association – Σύλλογος Αποφοίτων ACG in the light of this ongoing challenge for Greece and Europe, is about to host a venue on the “The impact of economics of geopolitics in Europe’s future”.

The event will take place on Wednesday, November 2nd 2016 at the premises of ALBA Graduate Business School (6-8 Xenias str, Pl.Mavili,18.30-21.00).
