Efforts begin to change the Statute and eventually the Constitution is amended so the Association becomes co-ed. Additional changes are made in the way the Board of Directors is elected. Each Board is granted a four year term, elections are held every two years and a system which ensures renewal of the Board members is established whereby every two years 6 members who have completed four years must resign from the Board and be replaced with 6 new members (3 from PIERCE and 3 from DEREE).
Years later, during the first co-ed Council, with 6 members from PIERCE and 6 members from DEREE, a registry is first created. The Alumni Association’s “Contacts” magazine is launched and the “Between us” revamped newsletter containing graduates’ news and Association events starts being mailed to the group’s members. At the same time a dynamic new department is created that is responsible for organizing social as well as sporting events at the Agia Paraskevi campus, which then welcomes graduates for the first time.
The members of the Board as well as graduates of PIERCE and DEREE (upon decision of the school’s Council of Commissioners) take part in elections of a new President of the Foundation. A decision is taken to create a website; the “Between us” newsletter is renewed and starts being e-mailed to graduates.
